Austin Area Birthing Center serves Central Texas communities including Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Bastrop, Leander, Hutto, Jarrell, Manchaca, Dripping Springs, Buda, Kyle, San Marcos and surrounding communities.

At Austin Area Birthing Center, our philosophy is that healthy women have the ability to safely experience natural childbirth when partnered with experienced and empowering midwives. We believe this type of birth can have lifelong positive effects on a woman’s self esteem and bond with her child.  Austin ABC pioneered the birth center concept in Austin area (opening in 1987) and is the only birth center in Central Texas that is nationally accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers.

Round Rock's Best Midwife-Based Practice

As a midwife-based practice for nearly 25 years, our experience in providing caring, compassionate and safe care to expectant mothers and their babies is unsurpassed. We offer a balance of traditional midwifery care and sound medical care through a team of nurse-midwives and certified professional midwives, providing our clients an attractive alternative to hospital delivery or home birth. While focusing on building trust and confidence between our midwives and expectant families through personalized care and education, our highly-trained midwifery staff can offer the next step in care when needed to ensure the health of the mother and child. Austin ABC provides birthing, yoga and breast-feeding classes to our clients to ensure that they are well-prepared for the birthing experience and motherhood.

Our Birth Location near Round Rock

Austin ABC has two beautiful locations serving Central Texas, each providing our moms and their families a comfortable, private, home-like environment designed from the ground up by architects and interior designers working closely with our team of midwives. Each of our six birthing suites (three in each location) has a large birthing tub as well as private, high-end bathroom facilities, ensuring that our clients don’t have to share these amenities with other families. Austin ABC's William Cannon location also has a kitchenette in each birthing suite while our Duval Rd. location has a shared kitchen in the birthing wing. Our services cost many times less than hospital deliveries and we are in-network with most major health insurance providers.
