Most of our classes are part of the package of amenities we provide to our AABC clients. Classes are open to AABC clients. Due to space considerations, we are unable to offer classes to the general public at this time.
Most all of the classes offered at AABC are free (for the exception of a few, please check with front desk) to AABC clients. Read below to find out if the class is drop-in or registration required. To register, call any one of the AABC offices or register during your next prenatal visit. Classes are cancelled for major holidays. There is detailed class information for each class when you select a particular class on the calendar. In the class calendar, the locations are color coded for each center. AABC Duval classes are taught in our Mind, Body, Baby Studio (4100 Duval Rd. Bldg 4, Ste. 207), AABC South classes are taught at (2500 W. William Cannon, Ste. 503), and AABC Wilco classes are taught at (1130 Cottonwood Creek Tr., Ste. D-2 in Cedar Park). If there is ever a class cancellation, the information will be posted on our AABC Facebook pages, not on this site.
Baby Love – This class covers care topics for newborns and infants up to 6 months. We will demonstrate and practice infant massage and soothing techniques for all of baby’s needs. You will also have the opportunity to meet many other AABC mommas. This is a drop-in class and offered once a week at each location. Please check the class calendar for specific dates and times.
Toddler and Crawler Love – This class is an extension of Baby Love, and covers topics appropriate for mobile babies and toddlers. They share toys, sing songs, and learn some yoga poses! Babies 6 months to 2 years are invited. This drop-in class is offered once a week at each location.
Baby Love for Dads – Bring your baby and learn some baby massage, relaxation techniques, and learn some tips about your new role as a Dad. This class is offered monthly at our AABC South location so check with front desk for dates. This is a drop-in class.
Prenatal Yoga at AABC – This is our prenatal yoga class offered to moms during all weeks of pregnancy. This class will tone and strengthen your body and mind. This is a drop-in class and please check the calendar of events for specific dates/times.
Postpartum Yoga – This class is available for moms after pregnancy. We will tone the muscles that are tired from pregnancy and birth. Please check with your Midwife to make sure you are ready to begin this class. Babies are welcome to come until 6 months of age. This is a drop in class and please check the calendar of events for specific class dates/times.
Birth in a Nutshell – “Nutshell” is a class that covers all stages of birth with an emphasis on comfort techniques and partner support. Encouraged for all clients (including second-time moms, and clients who have attended Centering. One-time class, requires registration. Offered select Saturdays at all centers.
Sibling Class– This is for big siblings-to-be between ages 2 years and older. The instructor talks to the siblings-to-be about how the home dynamics will change, how they can help Mommy and Daddy with new baby, and be the best big sibling ever! Registration required, this class is offered on select Saturdays.
New Trends Childbirth Classes – This series of four classes is taught by our childbirth instructor, Chan McDermott. This class draws on Chan’s experience and training as a childbirth educator and those techniques that have worked best at AABC through the years (Chan had all three of her children at AABC)! Throughout the class, we will introduce the stages of birth, go over relaxation and visualization techniques, explore other comfort measures for labor, and discuss postpartum care. We will also talk about what the support person or birth partner can do to help the laboring mom. This class is available every month for four consecutive weeks to complete the whole series. Registration is required so please sign up for this class with front office.
Breastfeeding and Newborn Care Basics – This is one of our newest classes – it’s designed to cover the basics of breastfeeding and postpartum care – everything from newborn care, to bathing, to cord care, care for mother after giving birth, pumping and returning to work, and more. Class meets on select Saturdays at AABC South and AABC Duval and registration is required.
Friends & Family CPR – The Family & Friends CPR course teaches the lifesaving skill of adult Hands-Only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child and infant. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment by using the ADA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible. This class is offered on select Saturdays at AABC South and fee is $25 per person, payable to instructor in the form of cash or check only. Registration is required.
