Charlotte Bellis

CPM, Licensed Midwife
Charlotte is from Yateley, a small town in Hampshire, about an hour Southwest of London, England. This is her story:
“After completing college, I began working in Child Education. I met my American born husband, Wyatt, and we had our first child, a daughter. Our second child was a son who was delivered by a midwife. This was a wonderful experience and started by desire to help other women by becoming a midwife myself.
I was accepted into the University of Surrey, a three year programme for the study of midwifery. My practical skills were honed through Frimley Park Hospital as well as homebirths in the surrounding area. This hospital delivered two of the Queen’s grandchildren! I was fortunate enough following graduation to be offered a midwife position within the maternity ward, rotating with antenatal, labour, and postnatal suites.
Midwifery practice is the norm in England, so I was delighted to find Austin Area Birthing Center in 2006 shortly after moving here from England. These ladies embraced me and allowed me to continue taking part in womens lives…first, as a postpartum caregiver and then as a prenatal assistant. I am now proud to take the title of CPM having satisfied the State of Texas requirements as a licensed midwife.
My family lives in Round Rock and we love the Austin area. I very much look forward to meeting more of the wonderful women and their families who come to Austin ABC. It is inspiring to see strong determined women who know, believe and trust their bodies to do a very natural process.
